Cooling Center to be Open Friday-Sunday
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Timothy Harhen would like to notify East Bridgewater residents that the town will be opening a cooling center today and throughout the weekend as temperatures are expected reach into the 90s for the next three days.
The cooling center will be at the East Bridgewater Community Center, 355 Plymouth St. on Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The cooling center will serve as a facility for residents to go to for temporary relief from the heat. Please note that the site is not intended to be utilized as a shelter, as there will be no sleeping accommodations provided. Furthermore, animals, with the exception of service dogs, should be kept on a short leash or in a cage.
The cooling center will be staffed by East Bridgewater CERT.
The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the East Bridgewater region starting at noon today and going until 8 p.m. Sunday.
