Chief Timothy Harhen reports that the East Bridgewater Fire Department responded to a call for a house fire on Tuesday night.
The 911 call came in at 10:14 p.m. for a fire at 46 Bixby Drive. Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a first-floor bathroom. The fire was confined to the bathroom and did not spread.
All three occupants of the home made it out safely. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
Crews from Bridgewater and Whitman provided mutual aid, and West Bridgewater crews provided station coverage. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
“Our firefighters responded quickly, and their quick response allowed for us to contain the fire and prevent further damage,” Chief Harhen said.
The fire remains under investigation by the East Bridgewater Fire Department and the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office.
