East Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary
EAST BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Scott Allen and Fire Chief Timothy M. Harhen announce that the East Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments will commemorate the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks next week.

Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 8:45 a.m.
WHERE:
East Bridgewater Police Department, 153 Central St.
WHAT:
East Bridgewater firefighters and police officers will honor all who perished on 9/11 at New York’s World Trade Center, The Pentagon and in western Pennsylvania.
The ceremony will also pay tribute to the members of the armed forces who have given their lives in the ongoing war on terror.
Residents, business owners and community leaders are invited to attend. Chief Allen and Chief Harhen will both speak briefly.
A town memorial was dedicated in 2016 to East Bridgewater native Craig Miller, a United States Secret Service Master Special Officer. Miller had an office at 7 World Trade Center next to the Twin Towers and was killed while trying to get people out of the building.
“Out in front of the police station is the memorial for Craig Miller, which is a large steel beam that was pulled from the wreckage of the World Trade Center,” Chief Allen said. “Every day, not just on September 11, the memorial serves as a reminder for us to never forget the men and women that died that day and to keep their memory alive.”
“No matter how many years go by, the importance of honoring and remembering the victims of the 9/11 attacks will never diminish,” Chief Harhen said. “We are honored to take part in this event and will take pride in remembering those firefighters and police officers and first responders who lost their lives that day.”
