With today expected to bring the hottest temperatures of this week’s heat wave, the East Bridgewater Fire Department encourages anyone needing relief from the heat to take advantage of available air-conditioned public buildings.
Today, residents may cool off at:
- East Bridgewater Council on Aging (355 Plymouth St.) – Open until 4 p.m.
- East Bridgewater Town Hall (First Floor Conference Room, 175 Central St.) – Open until 4:30 p.m.
- East Bridgewater Public Library (32 Union St.) – Open until 4 p.m.
Please note that these facilities will be closed Friday and Saturday for the Fourth of July holiday.
If you plan to be outdoors today, drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and check on older adults, young children, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
If you or someone else experiences symptoms of heat-related illness, such as confusion, loss of consciousness, or a very high body temperature, call 911 immediately.
